Sarah S. Mire, Ph.D., LP, NCSP, LSSP
Associate Professor

Dr. Sarah S. Mire is associate professor of School Psychology and faculty affiliate with the Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities. Dr. Mire developed and directs the *sparc (School Psychology Autism Research Collaboration) research team. The mission of *sparc is to improve outcomes for children with autism by enhancing capacities of adults who support them—caregivers and families, school personnel, and medical providers.
As an applied researcher, Dr. Mire’s broad goals for *sparc research are to:
- Understand which and how adult cognitions and affective responses are influenced by having or working with a child with autism;
- Explore how differences in adult cognitions and affective responding influence their assessment- and intervention- related behaviors (deciding, pursuing, and implementing); and
- Investigate how change in adult cognition, affect, or assessment &/or intervention-related behaviors affects change in the other domains.
*sparc has a special focus on the role of cultural factors in these processes.
Dr. Mire is a Licensed Psychologist (LP) in Texas, a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP), and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP).
